Michael is the Director and founder of Waratah Eco Works. He has worked in ecological restoration and assessment for 24 years. He has extensive experience and is passionate about the role of native plants in the environment.

Katrina is our Chief Operations Officer and manages our Quality, Environmental Management Systems and Work Health & Safety documentation, training, implementation and reporting, Katrina is a qualified lawyer with over 22 years professional experience.

Tim Lever

Tim Lever

Bachelor of Applied Science

Tim is our General Manager with over 12 years’ experience in ecological restoration. He has a background in natural resource management, having worked on projects in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Tim has specialist skills in Sydney Sandstone vegetation community and in subtropical and cool temperate rain forest communities.

Certificate III Bush Regeneration; Bachelor of Science Biology and Geography

Melinda is our Project Manager and a senior site supervisor with over 6 year’s experience in supervising bush regeneration. Melinda has a passion for the environment and has worked across a variety of bushland sites ranging from sites in Blacktown to the Northern Beaches. Mel conducts our internal Quality Project Audits to ensure all projects meet with our Quality , WHS and Environmental objectives.

James Donnelly

James Donnelly

Certificate III Bush Regeneration

James is a site supervisor with over 10 year’s experience in bush regeneration. James has specialist skill sin the restoration of a number of EECs including Blue Gum High Forest, Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest, Shale Sandstone Transition Forest and Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub. James also has extensive experience in pre fire preparation and post fire hand weeding.

Billy Moran

Billy Moran

Bachelor of Science with a major in Environmental Management; Diploma of Conservation and Land Management; Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management; AABR accreditation as a Bush Regeneration Practitioner

Billy is a site supervisor with 4.5 years’ experience who was a bush care volunteer prior to that. He has undertaken a lot of ecological work in Blue Gum High Forest sites and on the Northern Beaches working on dune and littoral rainforest sites.
Billy is passionate about getting the best ecological result on site, particularly on large, multi-dimensional projects and anything involving pre or post fire work.

Sharnicka Hampson

Sharnicka is a site supervisor who has been working with Waratah Eco Works for 4 years . Sharnicka is enthusiastic about plant identification and the outcomes for native ecosystems that result from good bush regeneration practices.

Brynley Pfull

Brynley Pfull

Bachelor of Environmental Biology

Brynley is a site supervisor with 2 years experience in bush regeneration. He has worked on a wide range of sites throughout Sydney with particular focus on maintaining resilient bushland and primary maintenance as well as pre and post fire work. Brynley also works on our ropes specialist team that conducts bush regeneration on harder to access areas.

Veronica Penna

Veronica Penna

Diploma in Conservation and Land Management

Veronica has been working in bush regeneration for 4 years. She has managed a wide variety of ecological sites utilising revegetation, Bradley Method bush regeneration, primary weed control and track management to achieve positive outcomes for bushland sites. She is particularly interested in creating and maintaining habitat for urban wildlife.

Nikki Hodgson

Certificate III Conservation & Land Management

Nikki is a site supervisor who has worked on a wide variety of sites in Sydney from Bankstown to Palm Beach. Nikki is passionate about restring bushland and in doing so, helping increase beneficial habitat for our native wildlife to live and thrive.

Kelly Byrne

Certificate III Conservation & Land Management

Kelly is a site supervisor who has worked previously in bush regeneration with The National Trust and on private restoration projects in the Lower Hunter Valley before joining WEW. Kelly has a passion for botany, conservation and restoring ecosystems. She is dedicated to achieving the best ecological outcomes on site. Kelly has worked on a range of sites throughout Sydney including Pittwater Spotted Gum Forest, Littoral Rainforest, Blue Gum High Forest and Duffys Forest EEC’s.

Lucy Burke

Bachelor of Environmental Management

Lucy is a site supervisor and has been with Waratah for 18 months. Lucy works in a range of sites around Sydney with a special interest in conserving the eastern suburbs banksia scrub community and pre/post fire works. She is also a qualified ropes specialist and enjoys the thrills of abseiling and bush regeneration combined.

Will Gore

Bachelor of Environment . Qualifications: Bachelor of Environment

Will is a supervisor with 1.5 years experience in bush regeneration with a volunteer background participating in various planting days around Sydney. He is eager to put his knowledge and work into restoring the local environment. Will has worked in bushland across Sydney ranging from riparian zones in Wiseman’s ferry to sand dunes in the Northern Beaches

Kelly Bollinger

Nursery Manager, Cicada Glen Nursery

Kelly has over 20 years working in nurseries, focusing on native plants, their propagation and how to grow them successfully in the garden. Kelly’s main area of interest is rainforest plants, Sydney local plants and habitat gardens. Kelly’s experience and love of native plants lends her to sharing her wealth of information with those that visit the nursery.

Tim Rutten

Tim Rutten

Tim is our Tubestock Nursery Manager, he has over 5 years experience in nurseries with a strong passion in native plant propagation and identification, a passion that has led him into bush regeneration and now has 2 years experience in the field. Tim is especially interested in Duffy’s Forest Vegetation and Open Heath Communities. Tim will assist Bush Regeneration teams when needed and supervise volunteer groups weekly.
